HARI’s Story
Meet HARI – a young gemsbok (Oryx) who lives amongst the sand dunes of the Kalahari Desert. In this waterless place, the only guarantee is heat, sweat and a great thirst.
Tired of the Savanna landscape’s inability to shelter him from the harsh sun, HARI decides to leave his family, in search of the ultimate thirst quencher!
HARI’s instinct drives him south, and after walking many miles, he arrives, tired and exhausted, in a fertile valley.
As HARI sits down to rest under a tree in a lush orchard, an apple falls on his head. He loves the crisp and sweet taste, and decides to load some apples into an old cart he found nearby.
Venturing further south, HARI comes upon a lemon grove. His spirits lift as the zesty, tangy juice of the lemons sparks an idea – he will make his own thirst quencher!
But to do that, he will need a third and final fruit to complement his ultimate thirst buster. He adds lemons to his cart, and continues on his journey.
Soon after, HARI reaches the beautiful hamlet of Wellington, where he discovers a vineyard.
Bedazzled by the tropical fruit flavours of the berries, he realises that he has found the final ingredient to brew up a storm, and fills his cart with ripe, golden bunches of grapes.
HARI starts to ferment the grapes, and then adds apples and lemons to his brew. When he tastes a mouthful of the golden liquid, he finally realises that his thirst is quenched!
Grapes = tropical fruit flavours
Apples = sweet and crisp taste
Lemons = zesty freshness
HARI often visits his family in the Kalahari, sharing his ultimate thirst quencher with the herd.
When he is not dancing the night away around a campfire, you can find him relaxing on the beach, sipping away on a bottle of HARI.
